Points Rummy — the Sprint

One deal, instant settlement. Each point carries a fixed cash value (say ₹0.05), the winner scores zero and every opponent pays their deadwood count, capped at 80. A game lasts two to five minutes. Best for: quick sessions, bonus grinding (chunks release per game) and beginners learning the flow. The skill is speed: identify your pure sequence fast and dump high deadwood immediately.

Pool Rummy — the Marathon

Elimination format: players who cross 101 (or 201) points are out, and the last survivor takes the pool. You pay one entry fee and play a series of deals. Best for: players who enjoy long-term decisions. Strategy inverts compared with points rummy — survival beats glory. Dropping early on a bad deal (20 points) is often the winning move; heroically chasing a lost hand for an 80 is how players bust out. Deals Rummy — the Middle Ground

A fixed number of deals (usually 2 or 3, "Best of 3" being the classic). Everyone starts with equal chips, points transfer between players each deal, and the chip leader after the final deal wins. Best for: players who want structure without a marathon. The key skill is pacing — a conservative second deal after winning the first protects your lead, while the trailer must gamble.
